Downtown gets scary
October 28, 2011
Hallowe’en may not be until Monday, but downtowners can’t seem to wait for thrills and chills! All weekend you’ll find parties for this pagan holiday at hotspots. Here’s an edited list for your haunting pleasure.
Hallowe’en Revelry
Hubba Hubba Review Costume Party at the Uptown – burlesque seems like a good fit for Hallowe’en, doesn’t it?
Funhouse Madhouse Costume Party at Oasis – two rooms and an outdoor patio for your costumed dancing pleasure!
Mixtape Hallowe’en Party at Bar 355 – fun, dance and spooky tunes with an informal costume contest at everyone’s favorite posh watering hole.
And on Hallowe’en day, Monday, Uptown sex shop Feelmore510 will be open late to entice couples into some devilish purchases near 17th and Telegraph.
Robots at the Digital Gaming Museum
As reported in this space (and nowhere else) a few weeks ago, Downtown is now the home of the Museum of Digital Art and Entertainment, which celebrates the history of video games. Next Wednesday, the 2nd, Dorkbot SF will present homemade robots that do fun tricks like juggling!
If you’re into that, you’ll probably want to mark your calendar for two pinball tournaments at Vitus (201 Broadway) next month – the first on November 9.
Have a scary good time, downtown!
